Sindarin
Sindarin es una lengua artificial (en inglés conlang) desarrollada por J. R. R. Tolkien. En los historias de Tolkien, era la lengua élfica mas común hablada en la Tierra Media. Era la lengua de los sindar, aquellos teleri que prefirieron quedarse atrás en el gran viaje de los elfos. Se deriva de otra lengua anterior llamada telerin común. Cuando los noldor volvieron de la Tierra Media, adoptaron el sindarin, aunque creían que su lengua nativa, el quenya, era mas hermosa. Antes de la caída, la mayoría de los hombres de Númenor también hablaban la lengua sindarin. El conocimiento de la lengua se mantuvo en el reino de Númenor en el exilio, es decir, en Arnor y Gondor, especialmente entre las personas cultas.
